Description

Join a team of QA Engineers responsible for testing financial, accounting, payroll and other corporate systems applications. Review technical specifications, evaluate software application against specifications and product requirements, determine test efforts and plan approach, create and execute manual and automated test cases. You will be generating test plans and summaries, creating HP/Mercury Quality Center test scripts and defects, working with the QA Manager to create testing schedules, collaborating with other engineers and team members to devise new or improve techniques for solving problems, as well as implementing advanced software testing methodologies and practices as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops and executes formal test plans to ensure the delivery of quality software applications.

Participates in test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test execution, defect tracking, and test reporting for accounting/payroll applications.

Perform system and integration testing.

Provides technical leadership, mentoring and coaching to less experienced individuals. Oversees training of team members.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of related IT experience.

Minimum of 5 years Quality Assurance/Testing experience.

Strong business knowledge of accounting, and payroll required.
PeopleSoft experience preferred.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience and/or Certifications.

Mercury Suite experience (Quality Center, QTP, LoadRunner) is a plus.

Experience testing across multiple platforms: web, client and database servers, and mainframe.

Expert knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, software, network) and their application to business functions/processes.

Experience working in an environment where risk-based testing is often necessary.

Proficiency in writing SQL queries.

Any test automation experience is a plus.

Works with multiple programs/systems on projects of high complexity within multiple development environments.

Works independently with senior management and technical groups across the enterprise.

Excellent knowledge of QA's role in the SDLC (including documenting test plans, executing test scripts, defect management, reporting status, etc).

Knowledge and experience with different development methodologies e.g. Waterfall, Agile.

Any experience working on projects with offshore teams is a plus
